Hard water refers to water that contains calcium or magnesium mineral ions, often in the form of carbonate. While these ions do not pose a health threat, they can lead to the formation of insoluble mineral deposits.

To descale or clean your kettle, follow these steps: 1. Fill the kettle with 1 cup of vinegar or lemon juice and 2 cups of water. 2. Boil the liquid and let it sit for 2 hours, then use a cloth to clean and wipe the kettle. 3. Rinse the kettle with clean water and dry it with a soft, clean cloth. 4. Repeat the process if necessary.

Keep in mind that it is normal for spots or rust to appear on the stainless steel bottom of your kettle after the first use, especially if you have hard water in your area. Additionally, if you select a preset with the Keep Warm Mode on and lift the kettle during heating, the CO117-DK will continue the heating process if the kettle is returned to the base within 1 minute.

The Precise 6 One-Touch Presets allow you to choose from 6 temperature settings for customized brewing, thanks to the STRIX thermostat technology for accurate temperature control. The kettle can boil water in 3-7 minutes, with automatic shut-off and boil-dry protection for safety. It can also maintain the desired temperature for up to 1 hour, and easily deactivated by pressing START/CANCEL for 3 seconds.
